As part of the ICTM Seminar Series, on November 4, 2025, the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy hosted a lecture by Prof. Florent Barbault (Université Paris Cité), titled “Simulating Copper Nanoclusters to Restore Brain Copper in Menkes Disease.”

The lecture attracted interest from researchers and students working in bioinorganic chemistry, biomolecular modeling, and computational methods in medicine. Prof. Barbault presented cutting-edge approaches to simulating copper nanoclusters, highlighting their potential in developing strategies to restore brain copper levels in Menkes disease,  a rare and severe genetic disorder.

The presentation was followed by constructive discussion on the application of theoretical tools in bio-inspired medicine and advanced materials.
